Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Power Electronics Engineer to address and resolve issues related to electronic products and printed circuit boards (PCBs) in the power domain.

This role involves diagnosing and fixing fallouts in electronic PCBs, evaluating manufacturing, design, and assembly processes, and implementing effective solutions.

The engineer will perform root cause analysis and corrective actions to enhance product reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve issues in electronic PCBs by conducting thorough testing and analysis.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve design and assembly issues.
  • Redesign and rework circuits as part of corrective actions.
  • Conduct PCB board bring-up and design functional test procedures.
  • Perform electronics hardware testing and generate detailed test reports.
  • Conduct SPICE analysis using Altium/OrCAD PSPICE tools.
  • Analyze and design magnetics for EMI filters and other input/output components.
  • Provide inputs for PCB layout design and ensure compliance with airworthiness and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, industrialization, and operations teams to drive product development and improvements.
  • Interface with suppliers and OEM customers to ensure product quality and performance.
  • Lead or support small to medium-sized projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Essential Skills

  • Experience designing power electronics at the board/PCB level.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting PCB designs during assembly.
  • Expertise in root cause corrective actions (RCCA) and root cause investigation.
  • Experience with DO-160 testing and PCB design using Altium.
  • Proficiency in circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE.
  • Knowledge of component selection, obsolescence management, and worst-case load analysis.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace or aviation industry is a plus.
  • Understanding of instrumentation issues and concerns.
  • Ability to perform research and testing for new product development.
  • Capability to lead and provide guidance to lower-level engineers.
  • Experience in creating design verification test procedures (DVTP).
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink modeling for control algorithm development.
  • Work Environment

    The role involves working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and tools such as Altium, PSPICE, and MATLAB.

    Engineers will follow sound engineering principles to ensure designs meet industry standards and customer requirements.

    The position requires interfacing with various departments, suppliers, and customers to ensure seamless product development and delivery.

    This is a Contract position based out of Carson, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.

    classification and length of employment.
