7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday- Friday, overtime and weekends when necessary

As a Power Rental Technician, you’ll be the hands-on expert installing, servicing, and maintaining mobile generator sets and related power equipment for customers who depend on reliable power every day.

Basic Duties


+ Responsible for Power Systems Division rental fleet while at the Altorfer shop.

Responsible for all units (generators and other types of equipment such as: compressors, chillers, a/c, heaters, cables, distribution and more).



+ Responsible for rental fleet unit check in & check out, unit readiness (functional runs and appearance), and basic troubleshooting/preventative maintenance.



+ Provide exceptional customer service by communicating and interacting with all customers to ensure we’re meeting their expectations.



+ Deliver and assist with loading & unloading project components on the customer’s job site.



+ Assist with set up, basic troubleshooting and repairs if needed.



+ Coordinate with other service & part sources (Non-CAT specific) when needing to order certain unit parts or services to repair/fix returned fleet unites.



+ Complete rental documentation for customer’s unit status.



+ Responsible for completing rental paperwork for Power Systems records and maintaining unit status.



+ May perform other related duties as requested and/or assigned.




Qualifications


+ Completion of formal technical training program or minimum of three years’ relevant experience is preferred.



+ Previous experience working in a field related to electronic diesel engines, fuel systems, generators, air compressors, heaters, air conditioning etc.

+ Computer literacy required.

Must be familiar with programs such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and various CAT Programs.



+ Ability to follow all safety rules and wear proper safety equipment.



+ Excellent planning & organizational skills are needed.



+ Must take initiative, be team oriented and willing to adapt to change.



+ Ability to respond to callouts, work overtime and weekends when needed.



+ Excellent communication skills (written, e-mail, and verbal) are required.



+ Must have your own basic tools.



+ CDL preferred but not required.



+ High School Diploma or equivalent is required.



+ Must have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

This includes no more than 2 minor violations within the past 3 years and no major violations within the past 5 years (Motor Vehicle Report will be performed on final candidate).

Payrate: $29.45 -$44.56 per hour

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions


This position will work in a field/shop environment and at Customer jobsites.

May on a continuous basis walk, bend and lift up to 75lbs.

Will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (IE- Safety glasses or side shields, hearing protection, etc.) for a given situation.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.

Occasional travel may be required.
