Introduction

The Pricing Analyst ensures the technical accuracy, integrity and reliability of all pricing data and the smooth functioning of the pricing tool.

This role is the backbone of reporting, analytics and data quality for pricing decisions.

The role will recommend the RSP based on product performance at current or set selling prices per division, format and customer profile.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
•Maintain and validate data inputs into the pricing tool (internal and external
•Ensure the tool operates reliably and reflects accurate business logic.
•Collaborate with IT and data teams to resolve technical issues.
•Develop and maintain pricing dashboards and performance reports.

•Monitor pricing KPIs and flag anomalies or trends.
•Run price management/reporting across Zones and regions (incl.

escalation processes if implementation not strategy compliant).
•Support scenario modelling and pricing simulations with clean and structured data.
•Partner with the Pricing Strategy Analyst to align data outputs with strategic goals.
•Work with category, promotions and marketing teams to ensure data consistency.
•Work closely with category managers, buyers and marketing teams to align pricing data with commercial goals.
•Provide data-driven insights to support pricing decisions and promotional planning.
•Assist in post-promotion analysis and pricing effectiveness reviews.
•Supports consumer pricing research and market price information.
•Develop and maintain dashboards to track pricing performance (., margin, price index and elasticity).
•Analyse pricing trends, competitor movements and customer behaviour.
•Provide data-driven insights to support pricing decisions and promotional planning.
•Support training and onboarding of users on pricing tool functionality.
•Document data processes and reporting standards for knowledge sharing.

Minimum requirements

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
•Honours degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or related field.
•3-5 years in data analysis, BI, or analytics (retail, e-commerce or FMCG preferred).
•Experience working with pricing, promotions or merchandising data is essential.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
•Excellent communication and stakeholder influencing skills.
•Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
•Quality orientated and self-driven to achieve results.
•Proficiency in Excel, SAP Retail, Tableau or other BI tools.
•Advanced Excel and data modelling.
•Proficiency in SQL, ETL processes and data validation.
•Ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
•Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to data quality.
•Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau and Looker).
•Ability to work collaboratively and translate data into actionable insight.
•Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel; ETL/data validation experience.
