The Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Operating Unit offers devices and therapies that treat patients with abnormal heart rhythms and heart failure.

We’re working a minimum of 4 days a week onsite as part of our commitment to fostering a culture of professional growth and cross-functional collaboration as we work together to engineer the extraordinary.

This position is located in Mounds View, MN.
You will be responsible for technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new technology for catheters.

Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.

Works closely with delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ **Design and Development Catheters:** Develop requirements, plan, design, develop, and verify mechanical and electromechanical catheters in the cardiac space, ensuring these products achieve high standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
+ **Innovation and Improvement** : Recommend and implement options or approaches to enhance safety, performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of catheter systems.
+ **Collaboration** : Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and systems engineers, to deliver integrated catheter solutions.
+ **Problem Solving** : Analyze complex engineering problems, provide in-depth analysis and innovative solutions to improve processes and catheter products.
+ **Prototyping and Testing** : Oversee the creation of catheter prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to validate and refine designs.

This role will also be responsible for design characterization.
+ **Documentation and Compliance** : Prepare detailed engineering documentation and ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and department best practices.
+ **Communication and Influence** : Communicate effectively with senior internal and external stakeholders

**TECHNICAL SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM:** An individual contributor with responsibility in our technical functions to advance existing technology or introduce new catheter technology and therapies.

Formulates, delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results.

May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals.

The majority of time is spent delivering R&D, systems or initiatives related to new catheter technologies or therapies – from design to implementation - while adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills.

Typically manages major / moderately complex projects, involving delegation of work and review of work products, at times acting as a team leader.

**Must Have:**

+ Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR PhD with 3 years relevant experience.

**Nice to Have:**

+ Experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably implantable medical devices 
+ Advanced degree in Engineering
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills and with the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
+ Ability to manage project timelines to execute tasks and deliverables in a timely manner

Salary ranges for U.S (excl.

PR) locations (USD):$128,000.00 - $192,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

U.S. Pay Transparency (for SIP, Commission, Hourly Direct, Interns, Executives)The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California.

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.

Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.
