Job Title: Salesforce Principal Engineer
Location: Atlanta, GA – Hybrid
Compensation: $175,000
Overview:
The Salesforce Principal Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-level Salesforce solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology strategy.
This role provides technical leadership across complex projects, mentors junior engineers, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Salesforce engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers, ensuring best practices in architecture, coding, and delivery. Design, develop, and implement Salesforce solutions leveraging Apex, Visualforce, Aura, and Lightning Web Components. Lead configuration and customization of Salesforce, including workflows, approvals, role hierarchy, validation rules, process automation, and security controls. Oversee integration efforts with enterprise systems (SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, JIRA), using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, and Salesforce-native integration services. Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into detailed technical specifications and solution designs. Drive improvements in system performance, scalability, and maintainability. Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging, ensuring adherence to development standards. Support multi-org deployments, consolidations, and AppExchange integrations (e.g., FinancialForce). Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions that prevent recurrence. Mentor and coach junior staff, facilitating skills growth and knowledge transfer. Contribute to roadmap planning, project management discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications: 7+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and implementation experience, including Sales, Service, Analytics, Community Cloud, and Force.com Platform. Strong proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, SOQL/SOSL, Aura, and Lightning Web Components. Extensive Salesforce administration/configuration experience. Experience with code/data management tools (VSCode, Data Loader, GitHub, Bitbucket, Workbench). Strong background in enterprise integrations (SAP, Workday, ServiceNow, JIRA) with APIs and ETL tools (MuleSoft). Demonstrated experience with single-org and multi-org deployments. Familiarity with Agile/Waterfall methodologies and tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, ServiceNow). Experience leading and mentoring technical teams. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience with FinancialForce applications (Professional Services Automation, Revenue Recognition & Forecasting). Background in documenting business processes, creating system design diagrams, and recommending future-state improvements.
