Primary Function
Provides guidance and support for automated testing of loan originating software (LOS), and other loans products and portals (applications) and other applications.
The Principal QA Automation role is primary responsible for the design and development and management of test automation strategy.
This includes taking ownership and responsibility for all aspects of automated testing along with creation, execution and maintenance of automated scripts.
The Principal QA Automation requires that the person has a solid knowledge of QA Deliverables and is proficient in multiple methodologies.
The Principal QA Automation role is required to possess analytical skills to analyze and decompose complex requirements into comprehensive test cases.
Principal Duties
Develop and implement QE test architecture, ensuring right quality and testing coverage within the Portfolio/Platform/EcosystemResponsible for building E2E & Smoke test UI automation, CI/CD integration and developing various test matrix.Direct various product teams to use new processes/ test automation tools, providing coaching and review regular code check-in.Solve complex technical problems within and between various technology stacks.Identify new industry tools/methodologies that enable automation efficiencies and address applications automation challenges.Partner with Application Development Leaders to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline.Partner with Solution Architects across LOB to identify E2E application architecture changes to drive QE strategies during testing.Responsible for developing UI/API functional test automation code & load/ performance testing for UI & APIWork with on-site, offshore team and give technical training to onsite and offshore team members.Regularly collects metrics to understand and track the time and cost savings.Provides daily progress reports and escalate any testing or automation issues using the appropriate escalation paths.With support and direction from QA Management, the Principal QA Automation participates in test planning to determine which test cases to automate and which ones to execute for each project/release.
The Principal QA Automation manages, day to day, the automation repository and the CI environment, ensuring the test scripts run without error in the target environment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to 1.
Monitoring the execution of CI/CD test scripts; 2.
Monitoring the daily execution of Sanity and Smoke test scripts to ensure they run to completion without errors; 3.
Daily detailed status reporting of automated testing activities within a given sprint or release; 4.
Participation in product readiness and release decisions, and provides recommendation on test sign-off.Education and Experience Requirements A Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Computer Science, MIS or related technical discipline7+ years' hands experience in the design, development, implementation, and the execution of automated test scripts.7+ years of experience in a QA/test environment with a focus on technical, automated testing in a variety of environments (cloud, web, business workflows and services/APIs, databases)Strong experience in developing and implementing efficient test strategies focused on automation and an expert in leading test framework design to provide efficient optimal coverage though test, component/service-based tests and complex “real life” test scenarios.Successful track record of working cross-functionally at a leadership/ executive level.Mortgage Knowledge will be an added advantage.Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements Must be able to plan, organize and direct automation activities to achieve maximum operational efficiency in meeting department and company, goals and objectives.
Experienced in developing test strategies and planning approaches for manual and automated testing.Experience in a variety of test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (unit test frameworks, SoapUI.
Robotic Framework, TestNG) and script development using scripting languages (e.g., selenium, Java.)Experience on Qualitia software test automation tool is a plus.Expert knowledge of industry practices with focus on Agile, DevOps, environments and test integrationSubject matter expert in in Selenium, Java, JMeter, Loan Runner, API automation & BDD framework, codeless / scriptless automationExpert in GitHub, VSTSStrong understanding of implementation of test automation at enterprise levelExpert in UI / API Automation using selenium / java.Expert in performance / load testing for UI & APIStrong project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structuresGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work across multiple organizations (on-shore and off-shore)Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologiesAdditional Information:While this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
