As a Principal Security Engineer - Azure Storage, you will lead security architecture and threat modeling for Azure Storage, mentor engineers, and champion a security-first culture across the organization and help make Azure storage the most trusted platform.

**Responsibilities**
+ Lead threat modeling and risk assessments for Azure Storage services.
+ Define and implement security architecture for distributed systems at cloud scale.
+ Partner with engineering teams to embed security principles into design and development.
+ Evangelize security culture through training, reviews, and best practices.
+ Mentor engineers and foster growth in security expertise.
+ Collaborate with product and compliance teams to ensure adherence to industry standards.
+ Drive incident response readiness and participate in live-site security reviews.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years experience in security fundamentals, including cryptography, authentication, authorization, secure coding practices, and threat modeling.
+ 2+ years in understanding authentication protocols, authorization frameworks, network isolation, and incident response.
+ 2+ years of experience in designing and managing large-scale services in a cloud environment.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 3+ years experience with familiarity in Azure services and cloud-native architectures, and hands-on experience with compliance frameworks such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), System and Organization Controls (SOC), and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP).
+ 2+ years experience with proficient communication and leadership skills to influence cross-functional teams, and ability to balance security rigor with engineering agility.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
