As a Walmart Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing digital solutions that solve mission critical business problems in supporting Walmart associates.

The Enterprise People Technology team supports the successful deployment and adoption of new People technology across the enterprise.

People Technology is one of the major segments of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Services, which is invested in building a compact, robust organization that includes service operations and technology solutions for Finance, People, and the Associate Digital Experience.

**What you'll do:**

+ Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product and other software engineers to understand the business problem, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems.
+ Lead your team in performing design and code reviews, improving operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant systems.
+ Create large sized, complex applications, services and systems.
+ Lead in a number of layers in the tech stack, from front-end development to back-end services and data platform.

**What you'll bring:**

+ At least 10+ years of relevant industry experience in building highly available systems.
+ Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from inception to deployment of complex project in production.
+ Effective problem-solving skills, ability to make design tradeoffs, balancing the long-term big picture and short-term implications of design decisions.


+ Expertise in service-oriented architecture.
+ Expertise with Relational and/or NoSQL Database.
+ Experience with CI/CD and operational excellence best practices.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills, including consensus building, conflict resolution, influence and persuasion skills.
+ Mentoring/coaching junior engineers in technical problem solving and career advancement.

**Minimum Qualifications...**

Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
