As a Principal Software Engineer,you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing software products that help hundreds of millions of Walmart customers resolve their contacts, save time and money.

**About Team: Customer Care Technology**
The Customer Care Technology team builds best-in-class customer service experiences for hundreds of millions of Walmart customers and customer service agents globally.

We are a group of software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts pushing the boundaries of Gen AI technology in complex enterprise applications.

The Customer Care Technology team is part of the Enterprise Business Systems organization in Walmart Global Tech.

We partner with our product, business and UX teams to drive significant measurable business impact.

Our mission is to help customers save money and live better.

**What you'll do:**

+ Collaborate with cross functional teams including business, product and other software engineers to understand the business problem, review business requirements, draft technical requirements, scope, design, develop, test, and deploy services and systems.
+ Lead your team in performing design and code reviews, improving operational excellence to ensure high quality, high availability, scalable and performant systems.
+ Creating scalable applications that solve complex real world problems.
+ Expertise in a number of layers in the tech stack, from front-end development to back-end services and data platform.
+ Learn and develop expertise inGen AIdevelopment, applyingGen AItechnology in customer care products.

**What you'll bring:**

+ At least 8+ years of relevant industry experience in building highly available systems.
+ Demonstrated end-to-end ownership from inception to deployment of complex project in production.
+ Effective problem solving skills, ability to make design trade offs, balancing the long-term big picture and short-term implications of design decisions.
+ Expertise in service oriented architecture.
+ Expertise with Relational and/or No SQL Database.
+ Experience with CI/CD and operational excellence best practices.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills, including consensus building, conflict resolution, influence and persuasion skills.
+ Mentoring/coaching junior engineers in technical problem solving and career advancement.
+ Preferred but not required: experience in launching successfulGen AIbased software products.

The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00-$264,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
