Principal Software Engineer, OCI

Job description

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) delivers mission-critical applications for top tier enterprises around the world.

Our cloud offers unmatched hyper-scale, multi-tenant services deployed in more than 50 regions worldwide.

OCI is expanding its mission beyond the traditional boundaries of public cloud to include dedicated, hybrid and multi cloud, edge computing, and more.

At Technical Strategy and Oversight (TSO) organization, our mission is to support customer choice, transparency, and value when it comes to cloud infrastructure.

We’re embarking on ambitious new initiatives such as building new innovative platforms, high performance primitives, frameworks to support OCI developers, and new container runtime that will allow us to run the full variety of OCI services, including our most demanding, high-performance, high-availability services.

We’re also working on new ingenuities such as providing canonical implementation of core components for data planes through a data-plane runtime framework, developing a remote persistent storage solution with the latency and performance comparable to that of a local nVME drive, and developing standards and tools to identify critical performance improvements across OCI data-planes.

We are hoping to enhance engineering efficiency by concentrating our expertise on building low level systems with high performance that can be adopted by our core cloud services across OCI.

In addition, TSO organization is charged with creation and governance of the OCI-wide programs to improve organizational engineering standards, governing processes, architectural review boards, change management, intercoms, PSA’s, and recruiting tools.

We are looking for seasoned and talented developers to join a new Service Platform team within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

This team is building a new platform name Kilt for powering OCI services that encompasses low-level execution runtime, application management and high-level workflows for change management.

Our mission is to help OCI developers concentrate on building their services while we ensure they run efficiently at cloud scale.

We need you to challenge existing engineering assumptions and boundaries, bring your expertise in highly performant, reliable software engineering and help us bring OCI to the next level.

These are exciting times, and our team is still new and growing.

This is your opportunity to build ambitious new initiatives with broad impact.

We’re looking for engineers who are self-motivated, passionate about solving complex software challenges, and able to dive deep into systems to understand and improve them.

You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Career Level - IC4

With your superb technical, research and analytical capabilities and demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively to delight our customers, you will collaborate with multiple teams to build the next generation OCI Service Platform.
