The Role

The Vehicle Experiences Engine Software organization is a dynamic, fast-paced team leading the design and development of GM’s next-generation embedded software platforms for Infotainment and Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV).

In this role, you’ll help shape the vision and define the roadmap for GM’s next-generation infotainment software platform—driving the evolution of the digital experience for millions of drivers worldwide.

What You'll Do

+ _Define and lead software strategy for new technology, highly complex features, or significant enhancements for current, new, or major programs, with a focus on_
+ _Vehicle Data delivery from mechatronic networks and other ECUs._
+ _Security, including necessary data encryption, integrity protection, authentication throughout all phases of vehicles’ manufacturing and use._
+ _Software and firmware programming from supplier factory to assembly plant to in-field OTA Updates._
+ _Define and lead Infotainment software development working in Linux and Android, while interacting with other operating systems and runtimes._
+ _Provide senior technical leadership and expertise to the development teams for the entire software development lifecycle._
+ _Lead and generate technical solutions including specifying requirements, functional decomposition, analysis, design, development, and testing for Infotainment software embedded in vehicle components._
+ _Perform software optimization analysis to improve system performance.

Analyze and resolve performance, memory leaks and deadlocks issues._
+ _Work with and bridge across multiple disciplines, including Engineering, DevOps, Product teams, Program teams, and Information Technology, to make appropriate system level design trades._
+ _Stay abreast of new technologies and competitive products; define GM’s technical strategies in the areas of immediate responsibility._
+ _Ensure the designed solutions conform to non-functional requirements such as scalability, maintainability, reliability, extensibility, usability, and security._
+ _Challenge current implementations and innovate to advance competitiveness and improve quality._
+ _Mentor and provide technical guidance to senior and junior engineers._
+ _Create and communicate vision & strategies specific to functional responsibilities.

This includes preparing and giving presentations to senior and executive management._

**Y** **our Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**

+ _Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related degree._
+ _15+ years of experience in Embedded software development and launching quality software into production._
+ _Demonstrated successful technical track record leading software development teams in complex system environments._
+ _Experience in the development of automotive-related infotainment solutions._
+ _Experience in working with SoC suppliers such as Qualcomm and NVIDIA on the development, customization and integration of automotive BSP software stacks._
+ _Solid expertise and exceptional knowledge in Embedded systems, QNX/RTOS, Linux, and Android systems._
+ _Excellent understanding of the embedded system requirements, Inter ECU communications, and stringent timing requirements._
+ _Technical: Java / C++, operating systems and runtime environments, safety, security_
+ _Expertise with Android SW stack and flows, OS startup sequences, interaction models between domains._
+ _Being a go-getter and excellent problem solver with demonstrated proven technical strength._
+ _Must be quality conscious, able to work around the obstacles and find the right solution in short timeframes._
+ _Very effective interpersonal and leadership skills that inspires high-performing teams._
+ _Superb written and verbal technical communication skills, excellent ability to incorporate other engineer’s ideas and explain their own._

_Compensation_ : The compensation information is a good faith estimate only.

It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws.

The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.

+ The salary range for this role is 277,000to 424,000.

The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

+ Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

_Hybrid:_ _This role is categorized as hybrid.
