The Principal Technical Program Manager for AWS Data Center Design Engineering Team owns the successful development and delivery of the next generations of data center designs and innovations from concept to at-scale global deployments.

This role provides a unique opportunity to engage with advanced infrastructure solutions and the exceptional people that develop them.

Key job responsibilities
The Principal TPM applies their expertise to:

- Own and manage development of complex next generation data center design solution to reach maturity for global deployment
- Drive alignment between the strategic vision and roadmap for the next generations of data center designs and innovations with the overall business vision and strategy to reach global deployment.
- Evaluate the requirements and actions that bridge the gap between design strategies, product availability and constructability aspects of deploying newest generation data center physical infrastructure globally
- Drive continuous advancements, improvements and alignment of data center designs between product readiness, construction methodology, financial analysis, sustainability, utility, operations and supply chain partners.
- Plan for global and regional specifics, test and validation, scheduling, and similar production readiness activities
- Collaborate across organizations (Engineering, Product Development & Services, Finance, Operations, Planning) and be the guardian for successful delivery of technologies.

- Are comfortable addressing and resolving ambiguity.

Identify and mitigate risks, drive issues resolution through data driven decision.
- Work independently in a high-performing environment with all levels of leadership and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist
- Assist the Senior Manager with hiring and developing the best, coaching and mentoring the TPM and PMT team
- Develops the mechanisms, reporting, and guidelines needed to effectively manage a portfolio of data center designs and related initiatives
- Recognize and appreciate diversity of thought and perspectives

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for engineering across all disciplines (mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and architectural), development, finance, integration, and operation of these complex technology programs.
You prioritize your activities to support data center design development, innovation, solve problems and remove blockers, and focus on the actions that are most impactful for program success.

Basic Qualifications
* 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
* 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
* 10+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
* 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
* Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $146,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,900/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
