The Industry Solutions Engineering (ISE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges.
We work closely with our customers’ engineers to jointly develop code for cloud-based solutions that can accelerate their organization.
We work in collaboration with Microsoft product teams, partners, and open-source communities to empower our customers to do more with the cloud.

This work involves the development of broadly applicable, high-impact solution patterns and open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platform.
As a **Principal Technical Program Manager** , you will help drive high-impact engineering projects with our customers and their partners, transforming their missions using AI and other cloud-based solutions and services.
TPMs identify and define the relevant customer scenarios, orchestrate the engineering approach to address these, and develop the end-to-end user stories with internal and external stakeholders, fulfilling the Product Owner role.
You will be part of a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, technical program managers, and designers who work side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions.

**Responsibilities**
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
+ Partner with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers, and Subject Matter Experts to architect complex technical solutions across multiple feature areas.
**Strategic Risk Analysis**
+ Provide data-driven recommendations to key stakeholders by identifying and evaluating project risks.
**Success Metrics & Implementation Leadership**
+ Define success criteria and build relationships to drive implementation across highly complex, cross-functional initiatives.
**Business Alignment & Coordination**
+ Ensure consistent alignment across divisions and coordinate efforts to support strategic business objectives.
**Roadmap Execution & Governance**
+ Own and deliver roadmaps for multiple feature groups, manage project schedules, lead staging and implementation planning, and oversee governance programs.
**Continuous Improvement & Customer Engagement**
+ Support performance metric collection, lead customer support efforts, and drive direct customer engagement strategies.

**Qualifications**
**Required/minimum qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
+ 2+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
**Other Requirements**
+ Microsoft is unable to sponsor a work visa for this role due to the nature of the role's job duties.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
**Additional or preferred qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
+ 8+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
+ 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
+ Enjoy travel and are comfortable with travel up to 25%
+ 3+ years TPM experience in cloud services engineering or operations.
+ 2+ years of experience with BI and BI tools for data modeling and visualization.
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
