Summary of Job Duties:

The Printer is responsible for printing forms, pamphlets, and other requested materials.

This position reports directly to the Director of Printing Services.

This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma;

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in a specialized or related field applicable to work performed;

  • Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Professional experience in printing, or related areas;

  • Experience with MarketDirect StoreFront, or other eProductivity Software;

  • Experience with Workday.

  • Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receives and reviews job orders, determines material needs, and sets up and operates printing equipment, paper cutting machine, drilling machine, and folding machine to print and produce request orders.

  • Controls press while printing to ensure quality and proper number of copies and examines sample sheet to assess printing defects;

  • Operates all production software currently in use or adopted in the future.

    Will be trained to operate any software required in the future;

  • Performs preventive maintenance on equipment by oiling, replacing belts, and performing minor repairs.

    Cleans machine, equipment, and work area.

    Contacts service personnel for major repairs;

  • Inventories supplies and makes capital equipment requests as needed;

  • Assists in planning work schedule, assigns work when needed, reviews finished print jobs, and trains new employees;

  • Oversees maintenance and repair of printing equipment and supply inventory;

  • Help customers with job needs/requirements and Storefront support;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Willing to learn any new printing or related equipment that will be introduced in the future;

  • Knowledge of the equipment, supplies, processes, and skills involved in the printing of text;

  • Some knowledge of form/graphic design;

  • Ability to operate and maintain printing equipment;

  • Ability to maintain inventory and requisition supplies;

  • Ability to review print orders, determine materials needed, and produce a finished product;

  • Knowledge of workflow analysis and job structuring theories and techniques;

  • Ability to assign and coordinate work activities and monitor the performance of co-workers and/or subordinates;

  • A strong team player who interacts comfortably with individuals at all levels of an organization;

  • Outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills;

  • Excellent customer relations skills;

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures to remain in compliance with applicable rules and regulations;
