JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented and experienced Buyer to support our Procurement and  Strategic Sourcing organization with: purchase order processing, vendor management, contract negotiation and expense planning and analysis.  In this position, you will partner with our Finance team and business leaders across the enterprise to ensure they are receiving the goods and services they need to run the business at the highest value possible, as well as providing in-depth analyses to support expense management and planning.

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

Essential job functions included but are not limited to the following:

·         Assist with procurement operations and play a crucial on our Procurement team.

·         Use ERP System and collaboration tools for efficient management of purchasing processes.

·         Maintain and manage purchasing records to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.

·         Understand the needs of the business to procure the highest value goods and services at the best price available.

·         Manage workflows related to purchase request reviews, compliance standards, purchase order approvals, and Contract execution.

·         Develop, issue and lead procurement activities to find the best sourcing solutions that meet business requirements.

·         Participate in vendor negotiations as needed including RF(X) processes.

·         Partner with vendors and our Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.

·         Develop and maintain detailed financial analyses on Vertafore’s spend.

·         Perform vendor reviews and identify opportunities for better expense efficiency.

·         Track contract end dates and proactively work to renew contracts on schedule.

·         Identify value/savings and efficiency opportunities across identified category spend.

·         Work with our Finance team and business leaders to develop accurate expense forecasts and plans.

·         Work with Legal and Compliance regarding vendor onboarding processes.

·         Drive continuous improvement initiatives within procurement organization.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

·         Proficient in spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, and financial ERP’s.

·         Experience with spend and financial forecast analyses.

·         Sound understanding of procurement practices and techniques.

·         Purchase Systems and order management software knowledge.

·         Strong presentation, reporting and communication skills.

·         High attention to detail, time management and interpersonal skills.

·         Effective management of workload and priorities.

 

Qualifications:

·         Proven working experience in procurement, finance, or accounting.

·         BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

 

 Additional Requirements and Details:

·         Travel required up to 10% of the time.

·         Located and working from an office location.

·         Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

·         Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

·         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.).

·         Frequent sitting and/or standing.
