Working with a manufacturer in the Bedford Heights, OH area seeking a skilled and Production Shift Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the activities of our food packaging and processing team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations, production processes, and team management.
This role is crucial in ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and meeting production targets.
This is a 3rd shift opportunity.
Responsibilities
Production Planning and Scheduling:Develop and execute daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization.Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement, quality assurance, and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.Monitor production progress and make adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and quality.Team Management:Lead and supervise a team of production workers, including hiring, training, and performance management.Motivate and empower the team to achieve production goals while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts promptly and effectively.Quality Assurance:Ensure adherence to strict food safety and quality standards, including GMPs, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to identify and rectify any issues.Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality problems.Equipment Maintenance:Monitor the condition of production equipment and schedule preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to increase efficiency and reduce costs.Analyze production data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.Safety Compliance:Enforce safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.Conduct regular safety training and promote a culture of safety awareness.Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong understanding of food safety regulations, HACCP principles, and GMPs.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.Proficiency in computer skills, including production software and Microsoft Office.#jdp
