The Program Coordinator supports continuous improvement across programs, helping translate strategic initiatives into practical tools and resources for staff and participants.

This role also plays a key part in supporting innovative projects that enhance service delivery.

A commitment to empathy, equity, and user-centered design is essential, as the Program Coordinator helps shape tools and processes that meet families where they are and empower them on their path to self-sufficiency.


Expected Positive Outcomes: 

  • The Program Coordinator contributes to the enhancement of internal communication systems by ensuring alignment between Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) policies, grant requirements, and agency expectations.
  • This role supports the execution of strategic planning initiatives by translating leadership goals into actionable tools, resources, and processes for Family Services staff, while gathering and incorporating feedback to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • In all aspects of the work, the Coordinator applies principles of empathy and user-centered design to ensure that tools and resources are accessible, responsive, and reflective of the mission and values of social service work.
  • Essential Functions: 

  • Actively contributes to leadership discussions, providing valuable insights, and translating high-level strategy into actionable plans for the Family Services team.

  • Creates clear and compelling content for both staff and external stakeholders, ensuring they're well informed about important updates, policy changes, and other key initiatives

  • Supports innovative projects aimed at improving internal systems and workflows to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

  • Ensures maintenance and organization of work including saving final documents, archiving working documents, and oversight of division’s administrative digital file structures.

  • Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with diverse groups from front-line staff to senior leaders.

  • Collaborate closely with the Family Services Manager to ensure administrative support for any professional development, including registrations and travel.


  • Provides support for division meetings and special events, including but not limited to scheduling, set up and breakdown, and registration.


  • Collaborates with the Family Services team to create better alignment across the teams.


  • Takes lead in preparing and running reports and spreadsheets that staff use for operational tasks, including validating data for accuracy and relevance.


  • Applies empathetic approaches when designing tools and systems, ensuring they are accessible and responsive to the needs of families working toward self-sufficiency.


  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality.

    Performs special projects for the Leadership Team, as needed 

  • Performs other duties as assigned
