**Position Description:**
The Program Director for Student Learning & Leadership has primary responsibilities in Supervision, Administration, Student Development and Institutional Support, and On-Call/Emergency Response.
The Program Director for Student Learning & Leadership is responsible for providing high-level academic development and leadership engagement administrative functions for their assigned areas.
This position may require evening and weekend duties.
The Program Director for Student Learning & Leadership is supervised by the Director for Student Engagement within the Residence Life area.
_Note:_ All positions are considered a part of the larger team.

**Major/Essential Functions:**
**Supervision (30%)**
+ Recruit, train, directly supervise, and evaluate the Program Manager for Student Learning and Residence Life Coordinator for Student Leadership.
+ Contribute to and monitor the professional development of area staff.
+ Provide indirect supervision and support to Residence Life Professional and Student Staff, particularly related to academic support and student leadership initiatives.
+ Conduct one-on-one meetings with direct supervisees and indirect staff as assigned.
+ Train and advise Residence Life Staff on student outreach and reporting for area initiatives.
**Student Learning & Leadership Institutional Support (35%)**
+ Provide direct support of Student Learning Programs (ex: Learning Communities, Professing Excellence Program).
+ Provide direct support for Student Leadership Programs including student organizations and complex councils.
+ Provide Complex Council Advisor support and organization and implementation of Complex Council retreat(s).
+ Assist Director in the implementation of the Academic Improvement Program designed to support staff and student leaders who do not meet minimum GPA requirements.
+ Assist Director in the implementation of Residential Curriculum for all in-hall staff and Student Engagement Curriculum.
+ Assist in the implementation of the Carol of Lights annual banquet.
+ Assist in the facilitation, execution, and assessment of the University Student Housing Scholarship Program.
+ Coordinate care package and linen programs through student leadership organizations.
+ Cultivate and maintain academic partnership which support tutoring within the Residence Halls.
+ Provide administrative oversight of departmental databases for Residence Life functions.
**Administration (25%)**
+ Provide administrative oversite for area functions including but not limited to budget management, residential curriculum, payroll approval, Maxient and student of concern reporting, and other departmental databases and systems.
+ Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Assess and report on the effectiveness of area initiatives.
+ Serve as an internal stakeholders for departmental initiatives including, but not limited to in-hall operations, staffing operations, summer operations and off-campus housing.
+ Serve as chair for the Residence Life Major Events Committee.
+ Advise, chair or serve on departmental or ResLife committees or liaison opportunities, as assigned.
**On-Call/Emergency Response (10%)**
+ Serve as a member of the Residence Life Leadership On-Call Team throughout the academic year, university breaks, and summer for a residential population of 8000 students.
+ Be available to a call-to-duty status to assist with residence hall and campus emergencies.
+ Communicate appropriately with emergency personnel, University Student Housing, and other campus officials as needed.
+ Support professional staff in responding to crises and providing follow-up.
