Program Mgr, Evaluation Job Opening In Itasca – Now Hiring American Academy of Pediatrics

Program Manager, Evaluation

Grant Funded

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare, is seeking a strong collaborator with qualitative and quantitative data analysis, statistical analysis, and data visualization skills.

This role will support measurement, analytics, and evaluation activities for public health and quality improvement (QI) programs and other assigned initiatives, trainings, and grant-funded efforts.

Reporting to the Manager, Quality Measurement and Evaluation, some duties include:
1.

Collaborate with supervisor, program leadership teams, and key stakeholders in the design of program evaluation strategies to assess performance, implementation, and impact of public health and healthcare QI initiatives.
2.

Develop and implement measurement and evaluation plans for assigned public health and QI programs, including data collection tools, evaluation frameworks (e.g., project charters, logic models, key driver diagrams), surveys, and other assessments.
3.

Design and maintain dynamic dashboards and visualizations that track performance, outcomes, and impact in real time across multiple initiatives.
4.

Develop materials (e.g., slides, reports, briefs) and deliver presentations to effectively communicate data insights and evaluation findings to diverse internal and external audiences.
5.

Develop and implement processes for data cleaning, standardization, and validation to ensure high-quality datasets for evaluation and continuous improvement.
6.

Analyze program data to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement, supporting data-driven decision-making for public health and QI efforts.
7.

Use evaluation findings to support staff and participants in ongoing QI efforts, providing guidance on using data to refine implementation strategies.
8.

Assist supervisor with identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements to streamline reporting and enhance evaluation efficiency.
9.

Apply mixed-methods approaches to evaluate program outcomes and inform implementation strategies, working with internal and external partners as needed.
10.

Lead the development of visual presentation materials (e.g., slides, reports, briefs) to effectively communicate data insights and evaluation findings to diverse internal and external audiences.
11.

Conduct literature reviews to support AAP public health and QI programs and department initiatives.
12.

Contribute to the development of Institutional Review Board (IRB), Maintenance of Certification (MOC), Continuing Medical Education (CME), and QI Data Aggregator (QIDA) applications, as needed.
13.

Assist with the development and implementation of the AAP QIDA workspace and related tools, including onboarding participants, analyzing run charts, and generating recommendations for improvement.
14.

Assist with managing data collection systems (e.g., Qualtrics, REDCap) and provide user support and troubleshooting guidance.
15.

Provide technical assistance to project staff, pediatric practices, and other stakeholders involved in QI and public health initiatives.
16.

Assist in developing metrics, indicators, and logic models to support program and QI evaluation.
17.

Collaborate with staff, advisory groups, and subject matter experts to ensure completion of all assigned grant deliverables.
18.

Contribute to internal and external reporting, including grant reports, stakeholder updates, and tracking systems.
19.

Assist in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations to disseminate findings at national conferences and through publications.
20.

Respond to inquiries from collaborators, AAP staff, clinicians, academic institutions, and other partners regarding program activities.
21.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications needed:
1.

Bachelor’s degree in public health, social science, health science, or related discipline required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience including some coursework or professional training/certification in program evaluation, measurement, and/or quantitative/qualitative analysis.

Master’s degree preferred.
2.

At least two years’ related experience in program evaluation; public health or social science research; public health program coordination, management, or implementation; quality improvement; and/or health education required.

Experience with quantitative/qualitative analysis required.

Experience with database management, developing or facilitating surveys, and conducting program evaluation across a variety of public health programs is strongly preferred.
3.

Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, and project management skills required.

Must be able to present complex data in accessible formats for diverse audiences, manage multiple projects, pay close attention to detail, maintain a high level of accuracy, work both independently and as part of a team, take initiative, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment with a commitment to fostering a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.

Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); quantitative (e.g., SPSS) and qualitative (e.g., Atlas.ti) analysis tools; and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) with the ability to learn and apply new technologies.

Experience with survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, REDCap), document collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint), and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, WebEx) preferred.

Some travel and evening/weekend work may be required, along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedule to accommodate physicians’ availability.

Hybrid working arrangement of 40% on-site at our Chicago suburb headquarters in Itasca, IL.
