r****About This Role****
The program coordinator's responsibilities include the promotion of a
recently funded project focused on increasing the adoption of
conservation practices in wheat-based systems of Kansas to growers, and
the establishment of a peer-to-peer network for technology
demonstration.
Specific goals include:
1) Organizing contracting and deploying meetings with growers in
diverse locations across Kansas to present the project to growers and
certified crop advisors and engage producers in the project.
2) Promote awareness of the project and of project meetings across
different existing venues to increase engagement among growers,
including but not limited to, written articles, social media,
audiovisual material, and Extension educational materials.
3) Coordinating the creation of an online educational program focused
on conservational practices to build capacity in providing technical
assistance to agricultural producers seeking to adopt conservational
practices.
4) Building a peer-to-peer network of crop growers interested in
testing and deploying conservational practices in wheat-based cropping
systems.
5) Organizing, advertising, deploying, and presenting at field days at
these farmer fields to demonstrate different technologies.
6) Organize and deploy other educational programs, such as winter crop
schools in strategic locations within the state, focused on the
education of growers about the adoption of conservational practices.
7) Assist the project manager in enrolling growers into Farm Bill
programs, whether by actively working on sign-up paperwork, drafting
project development plans, or coordinating farm visits for one-on-one
consultation.

****What You'll Need to Succeed****
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Requires a bachelor's degree.
This position may use an educational equivalency as determined
relevant by a hiring manager.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Bachelor in Agronomy, Horticultural and Natural Resources, or
related discipline.
- Experience developing and deploying conservation programs in
agricultural settings
- Experience with educational program development, farmer engagement,
and networking
**Additional licenses / registrations / certifications:**
Have, or be able to obtain, NRCS technical service provider (TSP)
certification
**Sponsorship eligibility:**
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing
basis without sponsorship
