Job description

Overview

The Project Controls Coordinator III (PCC) is responsible for the development and implementation of project controls processes, integration of cost and schedule functions, and quality control oversight of all project control deliverables for Engineering and Construction capital projects.

This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate cost tracking, schedule alignment, and project performance reporting.

Key Responsibilities




  • Interface with contractors to deliver training and support for EcoSys LEMs (Labor, Equipment, and Materials), ensuring accurate rates, estimates, and data entry.




  • Support a team of Project Controls Advisors (PCAs) with setup, receipt, and attestation of LEMs.




  • Serve as a Field Cost Analyst (FCA) for high-risk, high-complexity projects.




  • Generate regular and ad hoc analyses, including graphs, summary tables, and presentations for project reporting.




  • Assist Project Engineers and Managers with scope management, providing insight into scope definition, verification, change control, and project financial health.




  • Prepare expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, comparative cost estimates, and monthly forecast summaries across multiple projects.




  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze incurred field and indirect costs, comparing actuals against budgets and forecasts.




  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); work with support groups to enhance project execution.




  • Prepare project status and variance reports with clear analysis and rationale for senior and project management review.




  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and obstacles early and recommend effective mitigation strategies.



Qualifications

Education & Experience:




  • University degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline (other post-secondary education may be considered).




  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Controls or Project Management.




  • General understanding of pipeline operations is an asset.




  • Experience in Engineering and Construction capital projects preferred.




Technical Skills:




  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, and graph generation).




  • Experience with EcoSys (required).




  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Power Pivot, and Oracle/SAP.




  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project and Project Server.
