Where: Petersburg, Virginia (Fort Lee)

Type: Exempt

Compensation: Dependent on Experience

Work Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

    Tessera is seeking a Project Coordinator who combines technical skills—like project management, cost estimating, and system maintenance—with a positive, affirming approach to teamwork.

    Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for preparing information, drawings, plans and specifications to complete construction and repair projects.
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
  • Manage projects as assigned and utilize the Maximo Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Confer with engineers, architects, customers, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and/or foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing and scheduling work.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
  • Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Develop and implement maintenance programs for complex systems.
  • Develop and implement technical training programs for operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Monitor operations and maintenance of complex systems to ensure proper operations/maintenance.
  • Perform life cycle and energy analysis for various facilities, systems, and components.
  • Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer, PMP certification and IFMA CFM preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in General Studies/Engineering/Management preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience with construction materials, methods, practices, and costs required.

  • Ability to use Excel, Word, and Outlook daily.
  • Understanding of terminology and practices of mechanical, electrical, architectural, and civil engineering, design, and construction management preferred.

  • Physical Requirements:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking.

    Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
  • Requirements:

  • Valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance carrier.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
