What You Will DoAs a Project Leader 4 at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), you will integrate cutting-edge production-related projects that contribute to scientific advancements and support our national security and space exploration needs.

You'll manage large, complex initiatives from inception to completion, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring projects meet their scope and schedule objectives.

The selected candidate will be the PSP representative and voice at scheduling related meetings, ensuring the integration of all PSP division activities with a particular emphasis on the field execution schedule.The Project Leader 4 will:

  • Coordinate the creation of the daily/weekly PSP production schedule (field execution schedule).
  • Interface daily with the various PSP Programmatic Schedulers to ensure the necessary activities are contained in the various schedules.
  • Attend and act as the PSP Representative and voice for the following meetings which include, but are not limited to:
  • Tier 2 Day Shift Briefing
  • Tier 1 / Tier 2 Plan of the Day
  • Tier 3 and Tier 4 Plan of the Day
  • Weekly Facility Impact (Outage Meeting)
  • Lead meetings which include, but are not limited to:
  • PSP Schedule Review / Daily Production Update
  • PSP Daily T-1/T-2 Meeting
  • Frequently interact with the PSP First Line Managers (FLM's) and other Project Leaders to collect daily scheduling input, plans and status updates
  • Daily status of equipment and other related metrics
  • What You NeedMinimum Job Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of project management principles, including developing project plans, work breakdown structures, and work packages
  • Ability to manage large, complex projects and take corrective action, monitor work, manage conflict, and coordinate the activities of multidisciplinary teams
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and laboratory requirements related to the assigned project
  • Consultative experience in building and nurturing effective high-level internal and/or external customer relationships
  • Proven track record of successfully planning, organizing, leading, and monitoring a wide variety of team efforts to completion
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with personnel at all levels, build trust, gain consensus, and resolve conflicts.
  • Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 12 years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience working in a national laboratory or similar research and development environment
  • Active security clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools including Primavera P6.
  • Training/Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferredWork Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM.

    All work locations are at the discretion of management.Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.

    Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances.

    These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.

    A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

    Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.

    If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.

    You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th.
