We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in the Eller Partnerships Office (EPO).

The position will be responsible for helping to scope projects, negotiating project deliverables, and ensuring the student teams stay on time and within the project's scope for the Eller Undergraduate Immersion Learning Program.

The project manager will support the student teams as they move through all aspects of the project from Kickoff until completion.

The position will maintain open communication between the project sponsor, the student teams, and EPO leadership.

They will be present during the weekly meetings with the project sponsor.

The position will use their general experience and career industry expertise, to work with the student teams to coordinate project activities and resources to support the project's goals best.

The ideal candidate brings career expertise and industry knowledge in supply chain management, operations and data analytics.

This position is Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) up to 2 years with a potential for continuation based on funding and job performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Student Interaction: 

  • Coordinates and oversees student day-to-day operational activities for project(s), which includes but not limited to: administration, information technology, compliance, and communications with project sponsors.
  • Oversee student teams' solutions and monitor project plans, project scopes, schedules, timelines, deliverables and identifying and reporting issues to EPO leadership.
  • Performing research and analysis as it pertains to project scopes and deliverables.
  • Coordinates with internal and/or provide updates to leadership team.
  • Participates in coordination with students in the design and development of project solutions ( databases, documentation, policies and procedures).
  • Communication:

  • Act as a liaison and create communication plan between the project sponsor(s), the student teams, and EPO leadership.
  • Organizes weekly meetings with Sponsor and coordinate final presentation sessions.
  • Facilitate presentations during the weekly meetings with the project sponsor.
  • Quality Assurance:

  • Monitor project progress and performance against project scope.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and student reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed quality expectations and requirements as determined by the scope of work.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Assist student in identifying potential risks and provide ways to minimize their impact on project outcomes.
  • Proactively address issues as they arise and implement contingency plans when necessary.
  • Continuously assess project progress and adjust plans to mitigate emerging risks.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Proficiency in coordinating and leading projects independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge of all job functions and industry best practices, techniques, and standards in supply chain management, operations and data analytics.
  • Ability to generate status reports for industry and federal funding agencies.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification or evidence of similar training.
