Who are we looking for?

Our Southeast Water Business is growing! In response to this steady growth, our team in Columbia, SC is looking for a Project Manager to provide leadership to project teams on water treatment, wastewater treatment, collection, distribution and stormwater studies, design and construction engineering services.

This role will also provide you the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth of our Water & Wastewater Treatment service line by managing current relationships while acquiring new clients.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: 

  • Manage projects related to developing master plans, facility plans, sewer system evaluations and assessment
  • Direct the technical and production work of project team, administering contractual aspects of the project, and acting as primary contact for client
  • Establish project delivery strategy and develop job plan, QA plan, securing resources, establishing work briefs and budgets
  • Promote effective teamwork through mentoring and training
  • Develop pricing estimating, scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects
  • Manage all communication pertaining to technical and contract project issues and chair client meetings
  • Direct preparation of design computations and opinions of probable cost
  • Oversee preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project
  • Work with Service Line Leaders to demonstrate technical innovation in managed projects
  • Invite client feedback as appropriate to verify client needs are being met
  • What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10-15 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure or treatment facilities
  • Strong understanding of consulting engineering business and municipal agencies
  • Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
  • The ability to prioritize, track budgets, manage project schedules and anticipate associated upcoming tasks
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites and client meetings as needed (primarily day trips)
