Overview

The purpose of the Billing Operations project manager is to provide process leadership, identify, manage, and work on projects supporting the activities of billing and EGS operations which may impact PPL Electric's role in the retail and wholesale Electric Choice marketplace.

The position is responsible for understanding and recommending improvements to department work flow.

Provides input and direction to improve the process of gathering requirements, coordinates testing needs, communications and implementation of projects for both regulatory and non-regulatory work.

Position participates in the decision-making process by providing accurate and useable information to support the project team needs, wants, preferences, opinions and behaviors to meet changing business requirements and compliance with regulatory requirements in a retail choice environment.

Responsibilities

+ Direct and manage the work assignments of a professional staff as they relate to Choice, Large Power, Net and Virtual Metering and Billing activities such as bill calculations and verifications.
+ Provide expertise in several of the following areas: customer billing; competitive intelligence; EDI; meter data management; analysis; information systems; regulatory compliance; product development; and product management.
+ Maintains process documentation and job aids for the team and provides training where needed.
+ Represents for PPL in OCMO, EDEWG and EGS meetings.

Analyzes the impacts to the billing and EGS processes when changes occur and facilitates the requests for any system changes.
+ Interface with other departments within PPL for the identification and coordination of regulatory and non-regulatory projects and other day to day activities affecting Billing, OGC, Regulatory Programs and Call Center related work and follow-up of work related to their needs.
+ Develop and present written and oral communication to customers, suppliers, PPL team, PPL management, as necessary.

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications**

+ Four-year college degree
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Marketing or Computer Science

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint.
+ Ability to quickly learn new software packages.
+ Knowledge of EGS processes and procedures and understanding of EDI transactions.
+ Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Must possess an understanding of the electric utility industry and the emerging issues related to competition.
+ Working knowledge of basic statistics and accounting principles.
+ Proven ability to work on concurrent projects; must possess strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
+ Extensive knowledge of marketing research techniques, data sources, procedures, trends, and ethics.
+ Thorough understanding of all phases of marketing research including study design, implementation, and analysis.
+ Strong analytical skills including working knowledge of mathematical and statistical analysis and demonstrated ability to use the computer as an analytical tool.
+ At least six years of company experience.
