Reports To: Lead Prototype Machinist

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Prototype Machinist position requires a highly motivated individual with experience working in a CNC machining or prototype/job shop machining environment.
Candidate must have basic understanding of milling, turning, and grinding, with the ability to understand blueprints and GD&T.
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in general machining with Haas and Makino Controls.
Mastercam experience is preferred.
In lieu of 3 years of experience, candidates with a technical degree in machining will also be considered.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel will normally be less than 5% (training, equipment development, satellite facility support) to 0%.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent communication skills; reading, writing and listening.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints.
Ability write and read spreadsheets.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform.
MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience a plus.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, overtime before and after shifts and on weekends.
Ability to work as part of a team, including all related departments/plants or independently as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
