**Job Description:**

**GDIT's Military Health Team is hiring a Psychometrist to support clinical investigations for the Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence (TBICoE) located at the Naval Medical Center (NMCSD) in San Diego, California.**

**Psychometrist will support the current Traumatic Brain Injury Research Staff with their clinical investigations.

S/he will administer and score objective psychological and neuropsychological tests incorporating pertinent behavioral observations.**
**HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:**


+ Administers and scores neuropsychological and psychological tests for screening, clinical and/or medical- board related evaluations on patients with traumatic brain injury.
+ Documents behavioral observations and testing notes for incorporation into neuropsychological reports.
+ Employs alternate or modified assessment instruments and/or strategies as necessary.
+ Prepares for testing by reviewing pertinent patient medical records and consulting with clinical staff in advance of patient testing.
+ Actively participates in clinical assessments with staff neuropsychologist(s).
+ Assists with interpreting test results and writing reports of patient assessments.
+ Reports results that warrant prompt action to the research physicians.
+ Schedules patients for testing and other appointments, escorting subjects as necessary.
+ Create and maintain paper and/or electronic systems that may be necessary in order to accomplish these tasks (e.g. spreadsheets with contact information) as needed.
+ Maintains a close liaison with neuropsychology staff.
+ Maintain research project records in compliance with study and IRB requirements, as needed.
+ Assists in research activities, following all regulatory requirements as appropriate.
+ Works collaboratively with clinical and research staff on issues and patient concerns and demonstrates appropriate judgment in responding to emergent patient situations.
+ Maintains testing supplies/files and equipment in an organized manner.
+ Maintains neuropsychological testing database to track all patients tested on a weekly basis.

Serves as the primary point of contact to respond to requests for neuropsychological data from the VA and MTFs. Participates in feedback for patients and participates/facilitates psycho-education support group(s) as requested.
+ Maintain and update assessment testing skills as appropriate e.g. current version of measures, new measures.

**WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED (required)**


+ Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field
+ Training in standard psychological/neuropsychological test administration.
+ 2+ years of clinical experience in psychological and cognitive test administration required with meticulous attention to detail for accurate instrument completion, scoring, and data entry.
+ Excellent communication skills to impart complex test results to other professionals.
+ Excellent interpersonal and computer skills; ability to communicate effectively and to work with individuals of all levels.
+ Knowledge of basic counseling skills is preferred for eliciting cooperation from difficult subjects and ability to adapt to change in evaluating subjects of different disability during complex testing modalities.
+ Current certification in Basic Life Support and Human Subjects training.
+ Must maintain Continuing Education credit sufficient to maintain both their certification and to meet medical facility specific Quality Assurance standards for credentialing – as applicable.
+ Current certification in Basic Life Support and Human Subjects training.

Must complete CITI/ HIPAA training.
+ The incumbent must be able to work comfortably with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable T3 security investigation.

The likely salary range for this position is $69,264 - $79,654.

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.

Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
