Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Publishing Project Manager to join our team.
The Publishing Project Manager is a mid-level professional responsible for overseeing all phases of the publishing process of three Alutiiq books-from planning and content coordination with Elders, language specialists, and educators, to managing editorial workflows, design, and print production.
A key responsibility is ensuring timely delivery of both digital and print editions, making them publicly accessible online and widely distributed across the region.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Alaska Native languages while fostering a deeper understanding of cultural heritage.
Supported through the Building Up Bristol Bay Language Education (BUBBLE) and Teaching Culture, Honoring Heritage (TC2H) Alaska Native Education Program grant projects, the Publishing Manager will be directly responsible for advancing outcomes identified in both projects' logic models.
This full-time position collaborates with the Programs team to promote education and grant initiatives, while reporting to the Director of Programs.

The Bristol Bay Foundation, is a non-profit 501(c)(3) established in 1991, is committed to encouraging BBNC shareholders and descendants to pursue educational opportunities while preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Bristol Bay region.
Our foundation operates scholarship programs, cultural and heritage grants, and engages in fundraising to empower and uplift our community.
Requirements
Qualifications
Two-year or four-year degree is preferred, with 5 years of progressive work experience in office management or nonprofit management.
Proficiency in Squarespace, Office Suite, including Outlook, and Adobe.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong project management skills, an understanding of the publishing process, and a commitment to advancing language revitalization, cultural preservation, and educational equity in Bristol Bay and beyond.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals.
Thorough knowledge of grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading.
Discretion and ability to work with confidential information.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
General knowledge of Bristol Bay culture and heritage is preferred.
Work Environment
Work environment includes various locations in office and other public buildings and use of computer, audio/visual and general office equipment.
Limited travel to rural and remote villages in the Bristol Bay region by small plane.
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking and occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
