Pulmonary Function Technologist - Travel Position  




Location: Westerly, RI 




Job Type: Travel Contract   




Duration: 24 weeks  




Shift: 5x8s 




Pay: $2599/week  


 


Job Description




  • Must have Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience.



  • CPFT or RPFT certification preferred.



  • Experience with inpatient and critical care required (most PFT roles are outpatient, but this position includes off shifts and inpatient care).



  • Rhode Island and Connecticut licenses required to float to sister hospitals.



  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Days/Evenings with a mix of 2x8 and 2x12 shifts.



  • At least every other weekend and holiday coverage depending on department needs.



  • Strong Emergency Department (ED) infant ventilator experience required; NICU experience not needed.



  • Every Other Week (EOW) coverage.



  • BLS certification, COVID vaccine, TB test.



  • Minimum 2 years of experience required.



  • First-time travelers will not be accepted.



  • Navy blue scrubs required.



  • Free parking available.





Required Certifications & Competencies




  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or ARC only.



  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA or ARC only.



  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) – AHA or ARC only.



  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for NICU (not required for this role).



  • State Licenses: Rhode Island and Connecticut licenses required.



  • Pass/Fail Testing: Medication and EKG/Telemetry testing required depending on unit.



  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: Must score 85% to pass.



  • Color Blind Testing: Required for all candidates starting 8/2/2024, must score 80% or higher.



  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required for telemetry, MS/Tele, ER, and all ICU units.



  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months of start.



  • Fit Mask Test: Required within 12 months and must be updated annually.
    Clean-shaven for fit testing.



  • Background Check: 7-year criminal background check required within 12 months of start and updated annually.



  • TB Screening: Negative 2-step PPD, T-Spot, or QGold within 12 months of start.
    Chest X-ray required if positive history.



  • Immunizations:


    • Tdap vaccination required within 10 years of start.



    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccinations required.



    • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccine series, or declination accepted.



    • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccinations, or physician-documented history.






  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start.



  • Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (9/1-3/31).
    Medical and religious exemptions considered.



  • Additional Trainings: Various facility-specific trainings and attestations may be required depending on unit and role.

  • Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant experience; first-time travelers are not accepted.



  • Position involves floating.



  • Schedule includes day and evening shifts with weekend and holiday coverage.



  • Navy blue scrubs are required.
