Kelly® Science & Clinical is seekingQuality Control Lab Technician for a contract position at a global pharmaceutical client in Swiftwater PA. Location: Swiftwater, PA
Compensation: $25/hr
Schedule: M-F, 1st shift (8AM-4:30PM)
Duration: 3-6months, can go longer or permanent

JOB OVERVIEW

  • Performs Quality Control testing and related activities in accordance with volume fluctuation, business need, and effective cGMP procedures.


  • Responsible for QC laboratory operations and wet chemistry testing in the assigned area.


  • Identifies, documents, and immediately escalates all quality deviations, out-of-specification (OOS) results, and equipment issues to the QC leadership team.


  • Works to maintain the readiness and cleanliness of the QC laboratory and analytical instrumentation for continuous operation.


  • Accurately completes all testing, documentation, and data review as required by cGMP and internal SOPs.

  • Position includes responsibilities related to sample preparation, accurate solution preparation (titrants, reagents, standards), execution of wet chemistry assays (e.g., titrations, gravimetric analysis), instrumentation calibration checks, and meticulous record-keeping.


  • Works with Senior QC Technicians and Managers to ensure analytical activities are performed with the highest level of data integrity and quality.


  • Works to become trained and certified in all assigned QC analytical procedures and modules.


  • Trains and orients new team members on specific wet chemistry techniques and QC documentation practices as assigned.



RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Quality & Compliance (QC Focus) Follows all procedures put into effect to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others, particularly concerning safe chemical handling, waste disposal, and laboratory hygiene.


  • Executes and documents complex wet chemistry analyses on in-process, finished product, or stability samples following validated methods.


  • Prepares, standardizes, and maintains accurate records for all laboratory reagents, buffers, and titrants.


  • Works to understand and strictly adhere to all cGMP regulations, FDA/CFR requirements, and data integrity principles within the laboratory setting.


  • Identifies areas of analytical deficiency or procedural gaps to the leadership team and offers potential suggestions for improvements.


  • Actively participates in Out-of-Specification (OOS) investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) to ensure a quality product.


  • Completes and meticulously reviews quality documentation (laboratory notebooks, test reports, logbooks, PDR's, etc.) accurately and in a timely manner.


  • Maintains CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) and PAI inspection readiness for the QC laboratory at all times.


  • Maintains and performs operational checks on QC laboratory equipment (e.g., pH meters, balances, titrators, stirrers) to ensure proper function.


  • Recommends and assists in writing changes to analytical procedures (SOPs) and other controlled documents when warranted.


  • Assists in writing and supporting incident investigations, CAPAs, and change controls related to laboratory processes or test methods.



QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED with at least 6 months of experience in a laboratory setting (QC, R&D, or academic) involving hands-on experience with wet chemistry techniques.


  • Will consider a recent BS in Chemistry (or related field) graduate with relevant undergrad research, co-op, or internship experience

  • Requires excellent attention to detail, strong data integrity skills, and a fundamental understanding of analytical chemistry.

  • Must have basic mathematical skills (stoichiometry, dilutions, concentration calculations), good comprehension of written procedures, effective troubleshooting skills, and manual dexterity for precise pipetting and weighing.


  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or other relevant scientific field.

  • 1+ years of experience performing analytical testing in a regulated environment (e.g., cGMP, GLP - Good Laboratory Practice).

  • Proven experience with common wet chemistry techniques such as acid/base or redox titrations, Karl Fischer moisture analysis, pH measurement, and gravimetric analysis.
