You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

As a Quality Manager within the Data Center Engineering team, you will manage a team that supports quality of AWS Data Center Infrastructure equipment that AWS designs and that AWS buys from the OEM vendors.

Your team will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when supplier qualification, supplier factory/product qualification and root cause analysis support is needed.

As a Q&R Manager, you will be leading projects to ensure the highest quality of equipment is deployed to fit out our data centers to meet ever-evolving customer needs as we continue expanding.

As an ideal candidate you:
• Possess strong engineering and technical judgement and are able to provide recommendations despite uncertainty
• Are detail- and data-oriented
• Have experience managing quality improvement projects and leveraging vendors.
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction, Procurement, and Engineering)
• Open to travel 25% of the time

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data center equipment lifecycle.

You will prioritize your activities to support data center availability focusing on the actions that are most impactful.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Graduate Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5+ cumulative years experience managing an engineering team.

(Experienced Manager)
- 6+ cumulative years experience in a supplier-facing quality or reliability management role

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Advanced degree in engineering or other quantitative discipline.

Familiarity with manufacturing processes, ISO-9000, quality control plans, failure and root cause analysis, and structured problem solving methodologies
- Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards
- Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers (Including but not limited to: uninterruptable power supplies , diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, variable frequency drives, automatic/static transfer switches, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, heat exchangers, air handlers, etc...)
