**Job Summary:**
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for establishing, implementing, and directing the quality systems to ensure that requirements for processing products and services, and other materials, into finished goods and products conform to quality standards and customer requirements.
The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for working to and enforcing STC’s Quality principles:
+ Right the First Time in Everything We Do.
+ Understand customers’ requirements
+ Collaborate with all departments and suppliers to exceed customer expectations
+ Develop and execute quality plans for determining conformance to requirements
+ Ensure sufficient staff training and help to manage the impact of change
**Essential Functions:**
**General:**
+ Proactively supports a culture of safety and quality as top organizational priorities
+ Promote continuous improvement in inspection activities to increase productivity, eliminate scrap, and reduce rework operations.
+ Assist with continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) including, but not limited to: quality audits, internal; quality audits, external, as applicable; and other duties as assigned or required.
+ Responsible for interfacing with other departmental personnel (e.g. material testing, production supervisors, etc.) to facilitate processing and testing of product to ensure compliance with all requirements.
+ Represent Quality Control at meetings, including daily production meetings, as required.
+ Provide departmental support in the form of computer, electronic, technical, and other support, as deemed necessary.
+ Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with customers, external providers, source inspectors, and outside auditors, as applicable.
+ All activities must be performed in compliance with the QMS.
+ Other related duties as assigned or required.
**Inspection Process Ownership:**
The Quality Supervisor has authority for personnel actions and oversees day-to-day operations of the Inspection team.
He/she is also responsible for the throughput, pace, and cost of the department.
+ Establish goals (i.e. weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc) as required for the Quality Control inspection area and ensure continual growth for the area.
+ Works with manufacturing to schedule and control inspection activities and enforce requirements, as specified.
+ Oversee direct employee performance and development working closely with Human Resources (HR) to: complete performance reviews for direct reports on a timely basis, provide team motivation, recognize employee excellence, and provide performance counseling promptly, when necessary.
+ Establish an effective, efficient, and supportive team by developing staff (i.e. including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, etc).
+ Work with Quality Engineer, or Quality Manager, to evaluate and disposition materials, products and services, found non-conforming at Inspection within authorized limits, to arrive at the most economical disposition, while meeting all quality requirements.
+ Responsible for maintaining compliance with Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) programs, as committed by customers.
**Calibration Process Support**
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for: providing labor to perform STC internal tool calibrations and/or repairs, as required; to maintain records in accordance with all applicable standards; training of Inspectors performing calibration activities, or other designated personnel, to perform calibration activities.
**Skills and Experience:**
+ AS in manufacturing/related field or equivalent job experience.
+ Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings, including GDT, standards, and specifications.
+ Understands quality terms, definitions, and concepts; understand principles of traceability.
+ Understand statistical terms, plotting data, and identify deviated conditions.
+ Familiar with measurement methods, techniques, and terminology.
+ Understands the difference between precision and accuracy.
+ Ability to successfully operate and develop programs on all measuring equipment in the department.
+ Completion of STC Quality Assessment; includes, but is not limited to, higher level math, GD&T, etc.
+ Ability to become fully trained & demonstrate ability to perform in-house calibrations, repair, and data entry of same.
+ Ability to work independently.
+ Strong leadership, project management, and time management skills
+ Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
+ Able to build strong relationships with customers, employees and management.
+ Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem solving.
+ Detail oriented, organized, a highly motivated leader of people, and champion of improvements.
+ Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
+ Prefer AS9100 and/or ISO9001 Lead Auditor Certification, or equivalent experience, demonstrating ability to support AS9100 and other regulatory compliance activities.
**Total Rewards**
The compensation range for this position is $59,700- $89,500, depending on experience.
This position may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan.

**Work Environment & Physical Demands**
**Work environments and physical demands vary by role and may include:**
+ Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) or safety gear, provided by STC.
+ A combination of seated and standing work; walking for moderate to extended periods.
+ Fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and visual focus for detailed tasks, including tool use, computer work, or microscope inspection.
+ Exposure to repetitive motions; adaptive devices or reasonable accommodation may be provided as needed.
+ Deadlines, shifting priorities, and peak workloads that may create a fast-paced environment.
**Manufacturing & Production Areas:**
+ Work performed on the shop floor, in climate-controlled spaces, or clean rooms.
Some areas may be noisy, dusty, as well as hot during the summer.
+ Mandatory use of job-specific PPE and machine guards.
+ Occasional bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.; some roles require pushing loaded carts.
