Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Radiology Technologist.
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Radiologic Services, gives work direction to assigned personnel and participates in the operation of providing radiology services to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages, at all CHHD sites, Harvey, Calumet City, Flossmoor and Tinley Park.
Participates in ACR Accreditation process and in maintaining ACR standards for XR.
Participates in Radiologic Services Quality Assurance Committee with applicable indicators submitted as scheduled, and participates in hospital-based TQM/CQI activities as requested

(except US/MRI)Make minor adjustments to equipment as deemed necessaryAdhere to all prescribed safety procedures in the performance of their dutiesChecks quality of examinations and performs repeats if necessaryProvides patient and student with explanation of protocol and procedures when applicableMaintains awareness of safety hazards and use of equipment to prevent damage to personnel and patientsReports equipment needing repair to Manager/Lead technologist immediatelyObtains a complete history from the patient and/or chart prior to implementing proceduresPerforms imaging operations on assigned patients to obtain optimum examsMaintains an orderly work area to ensure maximum efficiencyAssists other staff when work is completedExhibits timely, satisfactory completion of patient’s assignments with minimal assistance, as evidenced by no overtime unless requested and approved by supervisorDocuments tests, procedures, to be performed on chart, and communicates this to appropriate person, and follows through to assure orders are completed with no documented errors notedProperly documents all unusual incidentsEnsures that all work is performed in accordance with production and quality standardsObserves the confidentiality of department informationIntroduces self to patient by name and title 100% of timeEnsure the explanation of procedures and protocols are given to patients and significant others within 5 minutes of patient's entering the department for all patient examsEnsures the performance of the imaging process on the appropriate patient, following established procedures, and as prescribed by the physicianMonitors studies for proper and adequate labeling, marking and history for all patient treatmentsEnsures observance of safety standards in compliance with legal requirements and department regulationsDemonstrates knowledge of age specific factors necessary to perform duties safely and effectivelyDisplays patience and tact when dealing with patients' families and other health professionalsPreserves patient dignity, privacy and modesty following all HIPPA guidelines at all timesParticipates in in-service educational programsAttends relevant workshops and conferences as availableAttends all mandatory departmental and hospital in-servicesAttends seminars to enhance leadership and technical skillsFormulates written goals and objectives, and reviews annually with directorSeeks education and learning experience in areas of identified growth needs and review progress during annual evaluationRequired Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and maintains certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)Retains an active Radiography accreditation with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety.
Registry eligible applicants must provide proof of application for temporary license (IEMA)Must successfully complete and maintain CPRPosition Details
