As a Research Computing & Instrumentation Engineer at the University of California, San Diego Professional Schools, you will play a crucial role in providing technical expertise, support, and innovation to our research computing and instrumentation efforts.
You will collaborate with researchers, IT teams, and laboratory specialists to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and advancement of our research technology infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in systems engineering, including hardware and software setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Programming skills and experience with software development in languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
Knowledge of data management, backup, and security protocols, including HIPAA/FERPA compliance.
Familiarity with laboratory instruments and equipment used in scientific research.
Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with researchers, laboratory specialists, staff and IT teams.
Project management experience and the ability to lead and execute technical projects.
Vendor support experience.
Support experience with: macOS, Windows, Linux.
ServiceNow experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $101,200 - $192,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $48.47 - $92.05
