Our Team and What We'll Accomplish Together:

Join our collaborative Research Team as a Research Data Analyst, where your expertise will directly impact the cattle production industry.

Reporting to the Manager, Research Data Team Operations, you will be part of a group that values innovation, collaboration, and data accuracy, transforming complex research data into actionable recommendations that improve cattle health, management, and production processes.

Our team is committed to improving decision-making through interpretable analysis, supporting veterinarians, animal scientists, and cattle producers.

What You'll Do:


+ Verify large datasets: Support the Research Team with your data extraction, data cleaning and verification, and data visualization (tables, charts, graphs, etc.) skills.
+ Query Data: Write and modify queries for efficient data extraction and manipulation.
+ Problem Solve: Use your critical thinking skills to reconcile biologically important data related to animal health, cattle performance, and carcass characteristic outcomes (along with other study-specific variables of interest).
+ Foster Team Success: Regularly collaborate with the Research Data Team, the Research Projects Team, and our veterinarians and animal scientists to ensure clear communication and effective teamwork on research datasets.
+ Develop your skills: Over time, transferable skill development is expected in the areas of data analysis (SAS), sample size calculation, and verification of data from a number of different study designs (e.g., small replicated pen, large replicated pen/production lot, individual animal).



What You Bring:


+ Minimum of Master's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Epidemiology, or an animal-related field.

+ Up to 2 years experience in handling large datasets, including skills in data verification, data visualization, and statistical analysis.

+ Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on ensuring accurate data summarization and consistent document formatting.

+ Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.

+ Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

+ Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

+ Experience working within the cattle production sector.

+ Positive attitude and supportive personality with a growth mindset.

Great-to-Haves:


+ Experience with dashboard creation in Tableau, Snowflake, Visual Basic for Applications in Microsoft Excel, coding, report automation, statistical analysis software (e.g. SAS).
