*The University of Maryland, Baltimore has an opportunity for a 12-month grant-funded, Contractual Research Program Coordinator.*During their contract, the selected candidate will support the co-PIs in the development phase of the Entrepreneurship & Science Communication for Aging and Aging-related Research (ESCAAR) program.
The Research Program Coordinator will oversee and assist the co-PIs in structuring research efforts to build out the multifaceted skills development course.
They will coordinate communication between the co-PIs, the advisory committee, and program faculty in developing course modules, learning objectives, and activities.
The Coordinator will liaise with the program’s evaluation team and other vendors and set up databases and communication structures for the co-PIs’ management of the program.
The ESCAAR program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) addresses the lack of formalized training in entrepreneurship and science communication for early career-researchers in aging-related research to enhance practical learning, creative problem-solving, communication skills, entrepreneurial readiness, and alignment with national economic agendas./This position is anticipated to last for one year./ *_Benefits Information_* UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of.

All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.*/ *_Primary Duties_* * Coordinate activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives for specified program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications.
* Coordinate day-to-day activities of the program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments, or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
* Manage data collection, keep records of program activities: progress, status, and outcomes, and prepare reports for management.
* Recruit program participants, members and volunteers utilizing most appropriate promotional or marketing methods, such as individual letters, brochures, or presentations.
* Assists in the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
* Interact and maintain liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with community members and partners in order to grow the programming.
* Schedule, market, and promote events of the program by independently developing promotional marketing materials and event plans.
* May coordinate, monitor or supervise the activities of work study students, volunteers, and contractual employees.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
*Education:*Bachelor's degree.
*Experience:*One (1) year administrative or program coordination experience.
*Other:*Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 undergraduate college credits being equivalent to one year of related experience.
In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.
