As a Research Scientist, you'll setup large-scale tests and deploy promising ideas quickly and broadly, managing deadlines and deliverables while applying the latest theories to develop new and improved products, processes, or technologies.

From creating experiments and prototyping implementations to designing new architectures, our research scientists work on real-world problems that span the breadth of computer science, such as machine (and deep) learning, data mining, natural language processing, hardware and software performance analysis, improving compilers for mobile platforms, as well as core search and much more.

As a Research Scientist, you'll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.

In this role, you will lead a team of research scientists and software engineers to advance the real-time neural rendering for Google Beam.

You will identify opportunities to improve quality and performance of reconstruction and rendering pipelines using neural networks, the latest generative AI approaches, and large-scale data curation.

You will coordinate research efforts from experimental prototypes, through comparative analyses, to mature technologies ready to deploy in a real-time system.

Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today’s leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.

**Responsibilities**

+ Manage a team of researchers and software engineers, balancing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
+ Recruit and hire talent to expand the team.
+ Lead the team to research, design, and develop deep neural networks for performing real-time novel view synthesis and other 3D image processing tasks such as generating 3D imagery, relighting, background segmentation, and general scene understanding.
+ Lead the team to research, design, and develop new hardware, software, systems, and processes for curating large volumes of training data for neural rendering models.
+ Integrate neural networks into real-time systems that stream over the internet.
