Redwire Solutions has an opportunity for an RF Engineering Manager at our facility in Longmont, CO.

In this role you will be a key leader in the engineering team, reporting to the Director of Engineering, and leading a group of RF Engineers.

This person will be responsible for growing the RF team and supporting the development of future RF products.

The expectations for this roll are 80% technical project support and 20% management of the team.

 

Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage a team of RF antenna and RF electronic engineers

  • Establish engineering best practices related to RF hardware design, documentation, and prototyping

  • Design, build, and test RF hardware/systems

  • Recruit engineering candidates and effectively onboard them to the engineering team

  • Conduct performance evaluations and compensation reviews for direct staff

  • Allocate engineering resources to programs

  • Determine and implement training and career development plans

  • Provide technical reviews for active programs

  • Generate and review technical content for bids and proposals


 

Ideal Experience


  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or other aerospace-related discipline with 10+ years of industry/related experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of leadership or management experience

  • Experience as a RF design lead in development, qualification, and delivery of high-performance aerospace flight hardware for on-orbit environments.

  • Experience with preparing, supporting, and leading project stage-gate meetings (such as PDR, CDR, etc.) and interfacing with customers.

  • Strong experience with designing, modeling and testing RF systems for aerospace applications with deep familiarity in best practices and a demonstrated ability to implement lessons learned.

  • Experience designing antenna apertures and/or active RF components.


  • Expert knowledge of Electronics CAD tools such as HFSS, ADS, AWR, CST, FEKO, Altium or similar tools.

  • Experience leading and mentoring junior/senior engineers.

  • Experience working within an AS9100 or similar accredited environment.

  • Experiencing with all aspects of microwave testing and test equipment.


  • Must be US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR.



 

Desired Skills


  • Experience designing RF systems in multiple domains for DoD customers

  • Familiarity with and exposure to military and tactical communication and data systems / architectures.


  • Experience with test-analysis correlation, including the ability to understand, interpret, and validate analysis predictions through test methods or data analysis.


  • Experience and training in safe handling protocols for flight hardware, including cleanroom and ESD standards.

  • Demonstrated experience writing technical proposal documentation and related technical reports.


  • Experience with aerospace guidelines and IPC standards for PCB manufacturing.

  • Experiencing with all aspects of microwave testing and test equipment.



    • Active Electronically Steered Antennas (AESAs) 

    • Helical, spiral, patch, dipole, and reflector antennas.




  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturability and experience optimizing designs for production.


  • Ability to thrive and deliver in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail with advanced verbal and written communication skills.

    Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers on challenging programs.

 Pay Range

$145,000 - $190,000

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US.

We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.


For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.

 Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.

Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position.

An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
