As a safety intern, you will take on responsibilities similar to those of a site safety manager, giving you a firsthand look at a career in construction.
A mentor will be assigned to guide and support you throughout the internship.
Additionally, you will have the chance to engage in company events and community volunteer activities.
Key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ Building Trust and Influence: Develop strong relationships with field team members to positively impact their safety practices and encourage a culture of safety.
+ Implementing Safety Programs: Assist in the rollout and execution of company-wide safety programs designed to strengthen defenses against workplace hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
+ Balancing Field and Administrative Duties: Efficiently manage your time between fieldwork and administrative tasks.
This includes conducting safety inspections, tracking training completions, overseeing equipment inspections, and performing trend analysis to maintain accurate safety records.
+ Promoting Innovative Safety Solutions: Advocate for proactive safety measures by seeking and proposing innovative approaches that focus on hazard elimination rather than mere mitigation.
+ Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report key safety indicators on project sites.
Respond to trends and data to enhance overall safety performance and address potential issues.
+ Promote Knutson Construction through community involvement and deliver The Knutson Experience.
+ Exhibit behaviors and actions that are aligned with Knutson's Zero Incident Safety Culture
+ Respond to and complete all other duties, tasks and/or projects as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
+ Ability to work in a team environment.
+ Adaptability and willingness to take on new challenges.
+ Knowledge of and proficient in the use of personal computers and related Microsoft software.
+ Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong skills in time management, ability to work under pressure and tight timelines, working with multiple demands with strong attention to details.
+ Ability to travel to and within project sites.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college and pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management with a Safety Concentration, or related discipline.
