We have an exciting new opportunity for a Scaffolding Builder in Norfolk Virginia!
Qualifications:
- Must have minimum of 1 year of scaffold building experience; marine or industrial setting preferred.
- Must be eligible to obtain DBIDS
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather conditions.
- Experience with environmental containment installation is preferred
Job Duties entail but are not limited to:
- Erect, modify, and dismantle scaffold systems (tube & clamp, system scaffold, etc.) aboard ships, barges, dry docks, tanks, and offshore structures.
- Build scaffolds in confined spaces, narrow passageways, and around irregular or uneven marine surfaces.
- Interpret and follow engineered drawings, load ratings, and site-specific scaffold requirements.
- Secure and tag scaffolds for inspection and usage, especially in high-risk work zones (hot work areas, tanks, elevated spaces).
- Perform daily scaffold inspections, maintenance, and documentation to ensure compliance and safety.
- Install and remove environmental containment systems (shrink wrap, tarps, poly sheeting, etc.) to support blasting, painting, or hazardous material abatement.
- Work with negative air systems, dehumidifiers, and climate control equipment within enclosed marine spaces.
- Handle rigging, hoisting, and staging of scaffold materials in shipyard and dockside conditions.
Schedule:
- Monday-Saturday 7am-4:30pm
Pay:
- $23-$25 per hour based on experience
