Summary of Job Duties:
The Scheduling Coordinator counsels patients on their schedules, procedures, instructions and collaboration with financial authorization and financial obligations.
This position facilitates smooth and efficient departmental operations and communications and manages multiple simultaneous requests from transplant services personnel, referring physicians, patients and other health care personnel while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
Qualifications:
High school graduate, GED, or formal education equivalent plus (7) seven years of training and/or experience in business office administration, customer service, or related work of which three (3) years of experience is in patient registration, scheduling, or billing preferably in a healthcare environment OR
Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of experience in patient registration, scheduling, or billing preferably in a healthcare environment.
Additional Information:
Key Responsibilities: Schedules, reschedules, and coordinates appointments using hospital software by performing visit notifications to patients and inputting/updating accurate patient information.
Works patient depot and maintains snap board for endoscopy.
Schedules tests, issues prep instructions, and mails out no show letters.
Blocks schedules in EPIC as appropriate
