Description of Work Unit
The Office of the Vice President for Research ( OVPR ) has overall responsibility for promoting and facilitating the research enterprise at Colorado State University ( CSU ).

The OVPR and its research enable the University, its faculty, staff, and students to be part of a world-class research institution complementing our learning, service, and outreach missions.

The Office of the Vice President for Research leads the 21st Century Land-Grant mission of Colorado State University by fostering and supporting the research enterprise, promoting scholarship and artistry, and capitalizing on opportunities to address global challenges.

Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.

Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city.

Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000-foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.

Position Summary
The Regional Program Manager/Community Coordinator will report to the Assistant Vice President, Research Administration and Co-Director of the Southwest Region of the of the National Science Foundation’s ( NSF ) Research Security and Integrity Information Sharing Analysis Organizations ( RSI - ISAO ) program.

The RSI - ISAO effort is led by the University of Washington and entitled, “The SECURE Center: Safeguarding the Entire Community in the U.S. Research Ecosystem.”


The SECURE Center is responsible for the co-creation and implementation of NSPM -33 – and related – research security framework development and best practices.

The coordinator shall manage communications, and engagement plans between the SECURE Southwest Center and its regional research stakeholders (i.e. academic research institutions, independent research institutes, medical centers and institutes, private companies, and Federal Government research centers and laboratories that participate in research and development).


The coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the SECURE Center’s mission by coordinating regional co-creation stakeholder activities and community engagement efforts for the Southwest Regional Center.

This position ensures that regional stakeholders are effectively engaged in discovery, design, and testing processes, contributing to the development of impactful solutions.

By fostering strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders, the Regional Community Coordinator amplifies the SECURE Center’s visibility and mission locally.

This role provides logistical and operational support for regional teams and events, ensuring smooth collaboration, effective communication, and alignment with center-wide goals.

Required Job Qualifications

+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.

+ Experience: 2 years in community engagement, event coordination, project management, or a related area.

+ Communication and Relationship-Building: Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across teams and stakeholder groups.

+ Technical Proficiency: Experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com), CRM databases, and online communication platforms (e.g., Slack, Google Drive).

+ Event Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and execute events, meetings, and workshops, including logistics coordination and virtual platform management.

+ Organizational Abilities: Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines.

+ Knowledge of community dynamics and engagement strategies.

+ Ability to gather and analyze data to inform decision-making.

+ Problem-Solving and Adaptability:Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to thrive well in ambiguity and work effectively under minimal supervision.

Essential Duties

Duty/Responsibility

+ Build and Maintain Stakeholder Relationships: Engage with, and recruit regional stakeholders, including those participating in regional co-design stakeholder activities, to foster ongoing, productive relationships that support SECURE Center design and development initiatives.

+ Serve as Point of Contact: Act as the regional point of contact for stakeholders, triaging inquiries and ensuring timely follow-ups.

+ Regional Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the National Center Community Coordinator and Regional Design Leads to align stakeholder engagement strategies across regions.

Support the National Co-Creation team and Regional Design Leads in the creation, administration, and sharing of materials developed for discovery, design, and testing activities.

+ Regional Community Engagement:Build and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations to foster connections that promote the SECURE Center’s visibility and mission.

Oversee the implementation of national community engagement strategies locally, meeting regional needs while maintaining consistency with broader SECURE Center goals.

+ Database Management: Maintain up-to-date information for regional contacts as part of a national contacts database, noting their level of participation as a community member and/or a stakeholder.

Provide regular updates to the National Community Coordinator.

+ Content and Platform Contribution: Contribute regionally relevant content to the SECURE Center webpage and digital platforms, reflecting ongoing regional engagement activities and enhancing the center’s community presence and accessibility within the broader community.

Coordinate with the National team to align regional events with center-wide goals and initiatives.

+ Meeting Management: For assigned meetings, prepare agendas, document notes, and track action items to ensure follow-through on decisions and responsibilities.

+ Virtual Event Support: Manage virtual meeting logistics, ensuring smooth setup and resolving technical issues for remote participants as needed.

+ Team Calendar Maintenance: Oversee the Regional Center’s team calendar, tracking and scheduling engagements, presentations, and events to keep all team members informed and prepared.
