We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Security Guard I - Part Time - Security - Part-Time - 4PM-12AM, Varied Days Off.
In this role, the successful candidate Patrol Hospital buildings and grounds.
Hold post on an assigned shift protecting patients, visitors, volunteers, employees, and property.
Respond to Hospital emergencies and provide staff support on access control and special activities as required.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assignedGreets patients, visitors, and employees and responds to inquiries in a courteous and prompt manner.
Identifyselfbynameclearlyandconcisely, matters outside the scope of own duties to appropriate other, keeping patients and others informed as needed.Protectandsafeguardvarioushospitalpropertiesandinstallations,asassigned.Patrolsurroundingareasto ensure orderliness of the environment , lock and/or open doors, secure restricted areas, check fire hoses, stairwells, etc.

Operate and/or monitor various security systems (alarms, TV surveillance, access control, digital recording, photo processing, CCTV).
Maintains the Identification Card system and distribution process, updating existing employee access levels.
Provide security escorts as directed (, a safe corridor to parking garages).
Observe visitors to hospital, answer questions, and investigate reported losses, suspicious and/or unusual situationsinacourteousefficientmanner.Escortunrulyorunauthorizedpersonnelfromhospitalpremisesin a tactful and professional manner.
May require restraining skills to appropriately subdue violators and/or emotionally disturbed individuals.
Prepare and submit appropriate incident reports to supervisor.
Explain hospital security policies and procedures to visitors, staff, etc., as necessary.
Assist other departmentsincontrollingvisitortrafficasrequired.Maintainhospitalpackagecontrolpolicyinaccordance with established procedure.
Respond promptly to fire alarms, and other emergencies using established communication systems in accordancewithestablishedprocedure.Unlockdoors,directimmediateandaffectedpopulationtoasafe area, assist fire brigade or appropriate other in a timely and efficient manner.
Detain law violators and represent the hospital in legal cases as necessary.
May be required to testify as traffic, guard celebrities, and official police ceremonies, etc.

May drive hospital vehicles.
Stays highly visible as a deterrence to crime.Patrols assigned areas of the facility and grounds on foot.Verbally confronts/questions any unauthorized individuals on Hospital grounds.Responds to all calls regarding security related issues.Responds to all security incidents and potential security incidents as notified by hospital personnel.Takecontrolofallsecurityincidentsandpotentialsecurityincidentsasneededbringthemtoasafe and rapid conclusion.
Direct and monitors vehicle traffic in and around the hospital to maintain a safe environment.Maintainstrafficcontrolwhenneededduringemergencysituationstoallowforemergencyvehiclesto enter and egress the grounds.
Directs employees, patients, and visitors to all appropriate areas of the hospital.Assists patients with special needs to enter or egress the facility as needed.Escorts employees, patients, and visitors to the hospital parking lot when requested.Directspatientsandvisitorstowaitingareasofthehospitaltopreventblockingopenareasand hallways.Takethe initiativeandcorrectssafetyissuesasdiscoveredtopreventpotentialinjury andcommunicate it to Security Manager.
Performsrelatedgeneralofficeandrecordkeepingtasksincludingdailylog,incidentreports,missing property, and other reports requested by the Security Manager.Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
Current and valid NYS Security Guard License.
Current and valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification (Must be obtained within 90 days of Hire date).
Current and valid Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI) certification (Must be obtained within 90 days of Hire date).
Strong communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills..
