As a Security Guard - Utilities Facility Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more.

As a Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated utility locations, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents and support a secure environment.

You will conduct routine patrols, interact with personnel and visitors, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

This is a driving post, so you will be responsible for patrolling the premises by vehicle as required.

Pay Rate: $14.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeMon01:00 PM - 09:00 PMTue01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.

    Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations.
  • Assist with access control by verifying credentials and/or identification as required by site policies.
  • Communicate professionally with visitors, employees, and/or contractors while representing Allied Universal.
  • Support emergency preparedness and/or evacuation procedures as directed by site protocols.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • A Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
