Senior Abstractor - CMS Job Opening In Remote – Now Hiring Ascension Health

**Responsibilities**

Utilizes specialty databases to abstract patient data from electronic medical records for the application of medical registries.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Performs primary data abstraction duties for clinical measures and registries while ensuring high levels of abstraction accuracy and ensures alignment with organizational quality standards.
+ Maintains various quality databases including loading import files, generating and working data status reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and timeframes.
+ Identifies and communicates trends in clinical data to leadership.
+ Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
+ Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

**Requirements**

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

**Additional Preferences**

+ Clinical experience preferred
+ CMS abstraction experience is preferred
