Job Description

We are seeking an  Senior Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer  at Air Force Research Laboratory (ARFL), Edwards, AFB, CA.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal Holding Company, brings a long history of delivering high-performance space systems engineering, integration and satellite operations services to civil and defense agencies.

ASRC Federal Space and Defense provides these services throughout all phases of the program life cycle and across the entire space systems architecture, including space and ground assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide assignments to other Engineer and work to completion providing status updates as needed
  • Work with design software to plan the chemical and fuels systems for a Test Facility
  • Work with systems personnel to ensure all designs are compliant with the propellants to be used.
  • Write and review work assignments that Technician crews need to perform.

  • Visit Technician team on the test pad ensuring work is progressing as planned
  • Serve as part of the Test Team
  • Must be able to develop relationship with buildup crew and create a strong team environment
  • Work independently and communicate progress

    This position is offering a pay range of  $145,000 - $205,000  depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.

    Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.

    Requirements

  • Expereince leading a team of Engineers
  • Ability to perform assessments of materials to be used in propulsion testing to ensure compatibility and function.

  • Strong background in Safe approach to tasks
  • Familiar with piping, flanges and other systems related to test hardware ensuring compatibility with proposed fuel systems.

  • The ability to serve on a test team of propulsion systems.

  • Must be able to work with a group through a test cycle from build-up through test shut down.

  • Write and edit test procedures.

  • Write and edit Work Authorizations for technicians to complete work assignments.

  • Provide routine briefings to Senior Engineer, Site Scheduler, Customers and Program Management of all assigned tasks related to Test Facility Build up.

  • Assist in test readiness prior to receiving customer’s permission to test.

  • Must be able to gain access to the customer’s computer networks.

  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.


    Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.



  • Education/Experience

  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    Aerospace Engineering or a related Engineering Degree
  • 5 plus years of experience
  • Technical Writing ability
  • Experience in Engineering design software
  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.

  • Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work at heights and depths.

  • Work overtime with little notification.

  • Must be able to work in extreme hear and extreme cold
  • Clearance:

    Ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance required
