Pay Range: $43.87hr - $48.87hr
- The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for executing part qualification activities with suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and driving process improvements.
- This role requires strong technical knowledge in manufacturing and inspection processes, the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal engineering teams, and the capability to resolve and prevent supplier-related quality issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and complete part qualification deliverables with suppliers, including:
- First Article Inspection Report (FAIR)
- Inspection Plan
- Capacity Study
- Inspection Correlation
- Process FMEA
- Control Plan
- Gage R&R
- Process Capability Analysis
- Process Validation
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve supplier-related non-conformances while implementing corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Partner with suppliers to enhance component quality, improve process capability, and identify opportunities for capacity improvement.
- Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers on manufacturing and inspection processes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure quality objectives are met.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Basic understanding of process capability and process performance.
- Familiarity with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (pFMEA).
- Solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for interpreting detailed mechanical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, including milling, turning, and plastic molding.
- Knowledge of inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, pin/ring gauges, vision systems, and CMMs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a persistent curiosity for addressing technical challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively manage challenging technical and interpersonal situations with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software (e.g., Agile), and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of casting and PCB manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience working in a medical device or capital equipment company.
Education and Training:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or equivalent (Master s degree preferred).
- 2 5 years of related experience in Supplier Engineering or Quality Engineering.
