Urgent! Senior Cryptocurrency Analyst Job Opening In McLean – Now Hiring BAE Systems
**Job Description**
**BAE Systems is looking for cryptocurrency experts with experience in either banking/financial investigation and/or relevant education in information systems or computer science, finance, or FINTECH.**
The ideal candidates will be tech-savvy analysts with data processing skills who want to grow and develop by initiating analysis on unique data sets.
This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to support the national security mission of the United States in the field of data analytics and financial exploitation.
The preferred candidate will have a keen understanding of virtual currencies, cryptocurrency exchanges, digital assets, and/or payment service providers.
The position will leverage the candidate s digital savvy and capacity for deep research and creativity to spot non-obvious targets and intelligence within a fluid and rapidly evolving market segment by applying data analytical tradecraft.
**There are 2 types of people we will consider for this role.**
1.
Candidates with strong technical skills familiar with Python and other scripting languages and have the ability to search files and folders with regex, scripts and pattern matching.
OR
1.
Candidates with financial investigations backgrounds will ideally have forensic accounting knowledge or experience, understand money laundering and sanctions evasion techniques and understand know-your-customer (KYC) information, customer onboarding and identify verification methods.
Knowledge of anti-money laundering guidelines such as FATF and/or jurisdiction-specific guidelines.

Drive operations
Uncover leads in large data sets
Explore acquired data for intelligence
Build technical tools/processes to improve overall operational effectiveness
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Successful candidates will have relevant education and/or training such as Information Systems or Computer Science or perhaps a business degree with emphasis on Banking, Finance, or FINTECH.
Certifications with tools like Reactor or TRM would be a plus.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Experience tracing cryptocurrency transactions, including asset flow, IP addresses and wallet software.
Candidates with experience and/or knowledge in the following areas will move to the top of the list:
**Money Services**
o Understanding how ACH and SWIFT messaging works
o Understanding how payment service providers work, such as Paypal or Payoneer
o Understanding how cryptocurrency is converted into fiat.
**Cryptocurrency**
o Understanding blockchains and how they work
-Merkle trees
-Centralized versus decentralized exchanges
-Cryptocurrency mining and how it works
-Proof of work vice proof of stake
-Public Key cryptography
-Role of updates such as BIP numbers, ERC20 improvements
o Cryptocurrency wallets
-How different types of cryptocurrency wallets work, such as software, hardware, custodial, non-custodial
-Advantages/disadvantages of each wallet type
-Private keys versus public keys
-Seed phrases
o Cryptocurrency transactions
-Visibility of transactions on the blockchain
-Role of nodes in cryptocurrency transactions
-How fees work
-Peer-to-Peer transactions
-Role of Exchanges
-Over-the-Counter (OTC) traders
o Cryptocurrency tools
-Proficiency with commercial blockchain explorers, such as Chainalysis Reactor, TRM or CipherTrace
-Experience with open source blockchain explorers
o Cryptocurrency laundering methods
-Mixers and bridges
-Peel chains
-High-risk exchanges
-peer-to-peer trading
-darknet markets
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
