**Job Summary:** The Senior DBA position will be responsible for maintaining Generac Power Systems Inc.

database systems (primarily MS SQL Server) including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring critical events and documentation.

To ensure efficient and high availability of Generac’s enterprise business applications.

**Essential Duties:**

+ Design and optimize data movement through best practice ETL (Extract Transform Load), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
+ Develop, maintain and optimize complex T-SQL queries/ Stored procedures to ensure consistent and reliable database environment.

Support SOX compliance and participate in internal and external audits.
+ Administer and troubleshoot Database issues providing root cause analysis on performance related issues and outages.

Lead database outage troubleshooting and recovery.Implement solutions that address root cause and plan for scalability for high performance.

Conduct risk assessment data platform.

Assist in investigations of possible security exceptions.
+ Maintain and improve internal process improvements: patching, upgrades, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, aide in re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.

Develop Standards, document systems and oversee standards are met.

Document and contribute to change control process for all database activities.
+ Collaborate with various departments, architects, project managers and technical managers to provide estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan and serve as a lead, when required, to implement solutions.
+ Support and maintain non-SQL Databases such as: Azure Postgres, SAP HANA, SAP MaxDB.
+ Maintain data integrity and security (manage roles and permissions of database users).Support SOX compliance and participate in audits.

Provide escalated support for business units with data related problems or questions about the data structure.
+ Manage all database technology upgrades, patching and installs.

And manage, Monitor and backup all designated database storage.

**Other Duties as assigned and the following:**

+ Communicate any potential issue to the Generac SAP Security Supervisor.
+ Assist in investigations of possible security exceptions.
+ On-Call support for Major Incidents regarding Tier 1 applications.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
+ 7 years working in Information Technologies.
+ 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL server databases.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
+ Experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) development / data integration.
+ Experience working on one or more of the following databases: Oracle, SQL Server and/or SAP HANA.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:**

+ Proficient with tools for monitoring and troubleshooting database activity and performance.
+ Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
+ Design and implement HA/DR Solutions using AlwaysOn, WFC and Replication.
+ Experience and/or knowledge of cloud database solutions and services.

(Azure, AWS, GCP), specifically familiar with Azure SQL and deep understanding of MS SQL Server.
+ Experience in creating and running Powershell scripts.
+ Ability to serve as the business modeler / data analyst for data projects and initiatives, creating conceptual and logical business models used to generate physical data models and database schema.
+ Ability to Identify and document current and future state of data architecture.
+ Ability to Research, promote and develop data architecture best practices.
+ Working knowledge of compliance audit requirements (example: SOX, PCI, GDPR, CFR21 Part 11, HIPAA, ISO9001).

The employee is regularly required to stand and walk.

On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.

Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Occasional travel.
